ABOUT THIS CLASS
Think all olive oils are the same? Think again.
Olive Oil 101: Taste the Difference is a hands-on tasting class that takes a closer look at what’s really in your bottle and how to tell the difference between a great olive oil and one that may not be quite what you think.
During the class, we’ll taste a selection of high-quality extra virgin olive oils and compare them with familiar grocery store oils in a blind tasting. You’ll learn what to look for when buying olive oil, how to read a label, what terms like “cold-pressed” and “polyphenols” actually mean, and how to properly taste olive oil.
And yes, we’ll eat too. We’ll try different olive oils and balsamic vinegars with small bites that show just how versatile they can be. And if you’ve never tried good olive oil over ice cream, this may be the class that changes your mind.
Whether you already love olive oil or you’re simply curious about what makes one bottle different from another, you’ll leave knowing more about what you’re buying, what you’re tasting, and how to use it at home.
Each class may feature different olive oils, balsamic vinegars, pairings, seasonal flavors, or locations, so no two classes have to be exactly the same.
